BM Transport Ltd was one of the big winners at the 2025 Full of the Pipe which was the biggest and best yet.

On a sizzling weekend at Mondello Park, the family-owned road haulage company from Co. Monaghan won Truck of the Show, Best Large Fleet and Best Combination. In addition, BM Transport claimed first prize in the Decibel Competition with a 2005-reg Scania 164, second place in the Best Tractor Unit 2025 category for Gary Gallagher’s Scania S Special Fire Edition and third in Best Bullnose for its Scania 4 Series T Cab.

The successes were a fitting reward for all the hard work that went into preparing the entries and making sure they were immaculately turned out. They also came on the back of BM Transport winning Best Working European Truck at Truckshow Ciney in Belgium a month earlier.

“We were delighted to bring home six trophies, including four for first place, from Full of the Pipe,” long-serving BM Transport driver and truck show enthusiast Glen Chambers says.

“The competition is mental, so to win what we did was unbelievable. The standard of beautiful and aesthetically-pleasing trucks in Ireland has gone to a different level in recent years, and that is recognised all over Europe. We also won four first-place trophies at Full of the Pipe in 2023 in the same categories, so we must be doing something right.

“We’re a regular fixture at truck shows and brought 22 trucks to Full of the Pipe this year. It’s always a great weekend which is made even better when you win!”

Glen’s stunning 251 MN 770-registered Scania 770 4x2 XL Cab won Truck of the Show in Mondello to go along with its prize for Best Working European Truck in Ciney. The win in Mondello was all the more poignant as the trophy honours the memory of the late Eamonn Corr, who was a friend of Glen’s.

“He was a lovely lad whose memory lives on with this trophy,” the affable Monaghan man notes.

“Eamonn would have been well impressed with the truck which has all the bells and whistles, and looks amazing. The XL Cab was fitted by Truckstyling Lunteren in Holland and the interior is done in genuine white leather. The graphics and painting were carried out by Daran Hollywood of Hollywood Signs / DHS Truck Products in Newry.  They help to make it stand out even more because stickers are a thing of the past, especially in Europe.

“A big shoutout and massive thank you also to Peter in P2 Truckstyle for his customisation and fabrication work.

“We were also delighted to win in Ciney, which is recognised as the second-best truck show in Europe. I have been accepted into it every year since 2016 and it was great to come away with first prize for Best Working European Truck. More recently, I brought the truck over to Truckstar Assen in Holland where it was also well received.”

Winning Best Large Fleet and Best Combination at Full of the Pipe was just as big a deal for all at BM Transport. Managing director Darren Murphy won Best Combination for his Scania 770 T-Cab Bullnose and Chereau refrigerated trailer, while Best Large Fleet was arguably the most significant win of all.

“That’s the one you really want as it’s a team effort at the end of the day,” explains Glen, who has been driving for BM Transport for the past 15 years.

“We also won the Decibel Competition for having the loudest exhaust on a 2005-reg Scania 164. It’s a bit of craic and always draws the crowds.”

Established in 1991 and headquartered in Clones, Co. Monaghan, BM Transport is one of Ireland’s leading transport companies which prides itself on providing fast, reliable and cost-effective logistics solutions to all customers, and a commitment to the highest standards. It provides a Europe-wide service and has expertise in haulage, logistics and customs to get the job done right every time.

Under Darren Murphy’s guidance, BM Transport has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. The company is currently running 185 trucks and 550 trailers, and employs 200 people. The trailers are a mix of Euroliners, refrigerated units, flatbeds, curtainsiders, extendable flatbeds and low loaders.

It goes without saying that the Co. Monaghan firm takes enormous pride in the appearance of its vehicles. With their striking blue and white livery, they are a real head-turner. Behind the wheel of every BM Transport truck is a reliable, experienced and courteous driver who always delivers the goods.

“The company started off transporting insulation products for Kingspan and it now has a wide and varied customer-base that includes O’Reilly Concrete, Kilsaran, BD Flood, Concast, Mannok, FP McCann, Span Wright, Smurfit Kappa, Atlantic Steel, Oran Precast and Drumderry Precast. You could find our trucks anywhere in Europe,” Glen concludes.

As the multi-awarding-winning family business continues to go from strength to strength, BM Transport would like to take this opportunity to thank its clients and suppliers for their continued support as well as its drivers and administration team for their dedication, hard work and expertise.
