A&C Components Strabane looking the part!

Under new ownership and a new name since March, 2024, A&C Components Strabane Ltd. is an industry-leading family-run business that delivers a vast range of quality truck and trailer parts to customers throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK. 

From its well-appointed base in Orchard Road Industrial Estate, Strabane, County Tyrone, A&C Components Strabane Ltd. sources and supplies a comprehensive range of high-quality, value-added truck and trailer parts to fleet operators and owner drivers throughout the island of Ireland. 

From air brakes to batteries, shocks to brake pads, oil, cam shafts, brake drums, callipers, clutches, etc., etc., A&C Components Strabane Ltd. has every eventuality covered. 

Backed by decades of experience and knowledge of every available HGV and trailer part, the outstanding, client-focused family-owned business is synonymous with quality products and service levels that are simply second to none. That’s one of the many reasons why they’ve built up a large volume of repeat customers in the north of the island whilst regularly attracting new clients and growing their market share. 

Joanne McFadden runs A&C Components Strabane alongside her husband Jude, who has been in the industry for the best part of three decades: “We took over the business ourselves at the end of March, ’24, but Jude has been here for 29 years, so he was vast experience of working with customers and looking after their needs.” 

Focused exclusively on lorry and trailer parts, A&C Components Strabane is currently fronted by a small crew of experts but prides itself on the knowledge, experience and dedication of its team… “Jude’s been here all his working life while another staff member, Kevin, is here 22 years. Between them, they have over 50 years’ experience. Experience and knowledge are definitely our biggest strengths and you need that in order to make sure your customers always get the best part. 

“In mid-March of this year, we took on a third staff member, my brother Paddy, and the business is going really well. It’s a small team at the moment but we’re hoping to grow it further in the future, if possible. As a family business, we have the best interests of our customers at heart and we always go the extra mile to make sure our customers are happy.” 

Supplying all truck and trailer parts across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK, A&C Components Strabane’s counter team are experienced and dynamic in consistently getting customers any part they need in a timely manner. 

They are stockiest of Dinex exhaust parts and also stock a wide range of other brands, from Firestone airbags to LUK clutches, Monroe Shocks, Mann Filters, Kongsberg clutch boosters, Wabco air brake equipment and everything and anything in between. 

“We also have a full range of truck and trailer LED lights, Shell and Total oil and Detta batteries, and are stockists of Febi products,” Joanne reveals. “We offers a free in-house same-day delivery service. If a part isn’t in stock, we’ll source it and arrange next-day delivery. Whatever they are looking for, we’ll provide it. Everything is geared towards meeting customer expectations and keeping their downtime to a minimum.” 

Attention to detail and ensuring customer satisfaction is key. Supplying both end users and fleet operators, A&C Components Strabane currently have three vans on the road offering a daily delivery service to customers. “We’re very lucky to have a large and loyal customer base and they are our bread and butter. We really appreciate the support they have given us since we took over the company [formerly known as A&C Components Ltd.] around 18 months ago. We are also indebted to our staff for all their hard work, customer service and the support they provide.” 

The change of ownership since the previous owner Tommy O’Brien retired last year has been seamless and if anything the company has become stronger. “Our customer numbers have increased and we’re very happy about that,” Joanne confirms. “We’re competitive and we give a very good service. Vehicle owners want to deal with somebody who knows what they’re talking about. 

“We have the three boys out front at the minute plus myself, but we’re very busy and will hopefully expand. By handling deliveries and everything else ourselves, we have complete control over every aspect of the business, so the quality aspect is guaranteed. 

“We’ll look at stocking more brands going forward. We only sell high quality original parts that people can depend on. These are the brands we know and you don’t get any trouble with them. We kept on all the same suppliers as the original business had because you can’t get better quality.”  

While the opening hours at A&C Components Strabane Ltd. are 9am until 5.30pm Monday – Friday and 10.00am until 1pm on Saturdays, the reality is that this is a business that never sleeps: “Ah, sure, it’s literally 24/7/365 but you don’t mind that at all,” Joanne concludes. “We take calls from regular customers out of hours all the time and we’re happy to do so because we appreciate the custom we’re getting. These are the people who support us and the people we depend on every day of the week to keep the business going, so you don’t mind doing whatever it takes to sort them out. 

“We’ll continue to do what we’re doing and hopefully we’ll be able to grow a little more.”
