WNV Systems has unveiled new truck- and container-based options for its Internal Trailer Wash.

Engineered to be safer, quicker, cheaper, and more effective than traditional trailer and shipping container cleansing methods, the mobile solutions join the company’s standalone system intended for installation in logistics depots.

Darren Bright, WNV’s sales director said: “The new truck and towable container-based systems we’ve developed offer even more ways to make sure trailers are cleaned to a high standard.

“An ITW-equipped vehicle could drive alongside a row of parked trailers and sanitise the insides of all of them. Or a container-based unit could be taken to a depot to sanitise trailer interiors during a high-turnaround food transport period such as the lead-up to Christmas.

“We’ve been asked what advantages an automated system has over handheld pressure washers, and there are three big differences.

“The first is that when cleaning is left up to staff, they can be reluctant to go into trailers and clean them to a high standard between loads. Next, the ITW means confined space working risks are reduced, and slip risks too, when there’s a need for degreasing or antibacterial agents, which can easily be added to our ITW.

“Finally, it can offer reassurance to high-traffic logistics operators that a consistent level of cleansing is carried out at regular intervals. A numberplate or trailer code reading system can be integrated, so that wash routines can be logged. So, as well as saving time and improving hygiene standards, it’s all auditable too.”
