Reddilift celebrates 20 years of handling your needs

Celebrating 20 years in business, Reddilift Forklift Services is a one-stop shop for all your forklift services, providing the very best from Toyota Material Handling in the West.

In addition, the family-run business specialises in hire, repairs, parts and training. It employs two full-time RTITB accredited instructors at its driver training centre in Milltown, Co. Galway. The RTITB Counterbalance Lift Truck (often referred to as a forklift) operator training course will give you the skills to operate the lift truck safely and efficiently, carry out a pre-use inspection, and recall and explain the causes of lift truck and load instability. 

From humbling beginnings in 2004 when Mike Reddington started out from a small workshop beside his home in Barnaderg near Tuam, Reddilift has grown to employ 14 people and become one of the largest forklift services provider in the West. Two years ago, the company relocated to a purpose-built workshop and showroom in Milltown Business Park where it continues to go from strength to strength. 

Reddilift’s three directors are Mike Reddington, his wife Rita and son Ian. Another family link to the business is Austin Walsh, who is one of the aforementioned RTITB accredited instructors. 

“We have come a long way in 20 years,” Ian proudly states. 

“My father worked as a forklift service engineer in the 1980s before moving to Saudi Arabia in the 1990s due to a downturn in the economy. He spent three years over there before returning home and eventually setting up Reddilift. Over time, he earned a reputation for providing complete customer care and satisfaction, and the business grew accordingly.”

“We pride ourselves on our aftersales service. We sell on that which eliminates the need for a sales rep,” Ian explains. 

“We have a fleet of about 500 trucks (forklifts) in stock and on short-term / long-term hire. That makes us one of the largest dealers of new and used forklifts in the West. Our forklifts are available to hire at very competitive rates. 

“We sell new and used Toyota forklifts as well as new Combilift and Aisle Master forklifts. Toyota is recognised as the number one forklift manufacturer in the world. We are experts in the repair, maintenance and refurbishment of a wide range of material handling equipment. We also offer a huge selection of competitively-priced parts.”
