Founded by Mick and Catherine Glennon in 2004, the Company will celebrate 20 years as your vehicle service and repair experts in 2024. This is a major milestone for the family-run business which continues to go from strength to strength by providing a world-class service coupled with a local personal touch.
From humble beginnings, the Motorfix has grown into the largest dealer alternative and independent workshop in Dublin with its owner Mick Glennon leading a team of top-class Technicians who offer customers a professional hand on approach each and every time.
Formerly known as J&A Commercials, the company was rebranded Motorfix in 2020 to fully represent its wide range of services include mobile repair breakdown, body and mechanical repairs, welding and fabrication, suppling tyres and batteries.
Mick and Catherine have now been joined by their son Paul, a mechanic by trade who runs the busy parts department supplying a full range of parabolic and multi-leaf springs for commercial vehicles.
“Mick and Catherine purchased an existing garage business in 2004 with just one mechanic and have grown the business steadily into what it is today. Mick is extremely well known in the Industry having worked in many of the large workshops, has a wealth of industry knowledge and brings a positive problem solving approach to every job,” says Paul.
“We rebranded in 2020 to reflect the fact that we repair every kind of a vehicle, and not just commercials and we pride ourselves on a well-earned reputation in the industry for outstanding personal service. It certainly helps that we are in a convenient central location with substantial premises that you simply can’t miss having ‘wrapped’ the building with our ‘Motorfix’ brand’,” he adds.
“We cater for every vehicle type here covering every aspect of any repair from vintage cars to the larger HGVs and those with a specialised body like tankers and waste trucks. If it has an engine, electrical or hydraulics, we will look to solve the issue and I think that’s something that our customers know and have come to appreciate over the years. We’re not afraid of tackling and diagnosing the difficult issues our customers’ experience in operating their vehicle or fleet.”
The company is well-versed in all the guidelines and specifications for every model, and knows from experience how keeping a vehicle in top shape will benefit the customer in the long run. Alan Rice, head of the service department, accommodates customers’ busy schedules and ensures all manufacturers' guidelines are adhered to, while also scheduling RSA routine inspections, CVRT & NCT pre-tests and repairs.
“We aim to take away the hassle by arranging CVRT bookings locally as well as carrying out the repairs required to ensure vehicles are off the road for the minimum time as possible as well as offering a local delivery service by our driver when required,” Alan says.
All of the staff at Motorfix are highly-trained to repair any problems and get your car, van or truck back to running at its best possible performance.
A qualified mechanic with over 30 years’ experience, Mick is Motorfix’s head mechanic and commercial sales manager who brings considerable knowledge and experience, an always obliging attitude and a problem-solving approach to ensure that all the vehicles which pass through the garage’s doors are serviced and repaired to a high standard.

Catherine brings excellent business and financial management skills and, together with her husband, takes great personal pride in the service Motorfix delivers for its customers.
