In 2010, Darren bought his first DAF recovery truck and over the years has built up not only his fleet, but also his client base. In fact in January of this year, Darren took over Dublin City Recovery (DCR), and while not only purchasing the company he also bought many of their trucks and equipment. He built his business from living with his parents, moving to a site in Donaghmede and finally purchasing a property in Malahide Road.

Based on the site of the old Kinsealy Garden Centre on Dublin’s Malahide Road, Darren is joined by his partner Cathriona, parents, brothers Dean and Robert, son Lewis and staff. After D&L purchased Dublin City Recovery, Darren decided Dean would be managing the day-to-day operation as he has been involved since the outset, while Lewis recently joined on a full-time basis after finishing school. Darren hopes that one day his other son Alex will also join the team as like himself he has a keen interest in cars since a very young age.
