The eSprinter ‘fits like a glove’. That’s according to Dublin-based speciality coffee roasters and retailers Cloud Picker on foot of upgrading its company van to the all-electric workhorse from Mercedes-Benz.
Supplied by Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer, M50 Truck and Van Centre, the new unit has gone into operation servicing the coffee company's weekly deliveries in Dublin City Centre.
Modelled on the popular diesel-powered Sprinter, the eSprinter has an unrestricted cargo volume of 11 cubic metres, a useable battery capacity of 35 kWh with peak output of 85 kW, a 120kms range and a top speed up to 120 km/h. Safety features include Hill Start Assist, Crosswind Assist and Headlight Assist.
Commenting on their new acquisition, Cloud Picker founders Frank Kavanagh and Peter Sztal praised the ‘look and feel’ of the van adding: “We did a lot of research when we decided to upgrade and the eSprinter does exactly what we want, whilst saving us a huge amount on fuel costs. It fits like a glove.”
Established in 2013, Cloud Picker hand roasts coffee weekly to order at its roastery in Crumlin for supply to coffee shops and restaurants nationwide. The firm also operates its own café on Pearse Street.
