Ian Dunne Tyre Services provides an exceptional mobile tyre fitting service to the transport and agri sectors in the heart of Ireland. With over 30 years’ experience in onsite tyre / wheel repairs, Ian promises to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

Operating from Kilcavan, which straddles the Laois-Offaly border near Geashill, Ian Dunne Tyre Services offers a 24-hour emergency breakdown service to a wide range of customers throughout the midlands. A one-man operation, Ian is always on hand to repair or replace your tyres at any location in his catchment area of Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Kildare and Longford. He prides himself on providing a reliable, professional, efficient, safe and value-for-money service

“If I say I’ll be there, I’ll be there,” he stresses.

“Reliability is a big thing with me and my customers. If you tell someone you’ll be there in half an hour, you better be there in half an hour. You won’t survive in this business if you’re not reliable and up front with your customers.”

Ian Dunne Tyre Services has gone from strength to strength since its formation in March 1993. Ian is constantly investing in new equipment and the latest technologies, and recently took delivery of a new Ford Transit from Downey’s Auto Stop in Portlaoise. The van is equipped with everything from compressors to air guns and jacks which enable him to fix or replace tyres at the roadside or in the customer’s yard.

“My emergency mobile unit is kitted out with the best professional equipment in order to get the job done to the highest of standards,” he explains.

As part of his comprehensive service, Ian also stocks an extensive range of quality truck and agricultural tyres to suit everyone’s pocket.

“Business has been steady. You’re always going to have punctures and breakdowns,” he continues.

“I provide a 24-hour rapid response service to hauliers and farmers. I cover all of Laois and Offaly as well as parts of Westmeath, Longford and Kildare. I specialise in truck and tractor tyres along with diggers, JCBs, forklifts and every other tyre type except for cars, vans and bikes. Good value and good wear are guaranteed.”

Grateful for the support of his wife Irene and son Peter, Ian endeavours to ensure that every customer he deals with is 100% satisfied. If there is any problem, big or small, he strives to solve it to the best of his ability.

The affable Kilcavan man supplies all the leading tyre brands, including Hankook, Bridgestone, Michelin and Aurora. He makes no secret of his dislike for budget brands, however, insisting: “They aren’t worth putting on and will cost you more in the long run.” In addition, Ian sources his retread tyres from Condron Tyres in Killeigh, Co. Offaly.

Your new tyres shouldn’t come at the expense of your precious time so, rather than waste the day at a tyre depot or garage, customers of Ian’s can choose to have their tyres fitted at any location or at a time that is convenient to them.

“I go out of my way to look after my customers and this has led to a lot of repeat business which I’m very thankful for. I’m fortunate to have some great clients, the likes of Clavin Transport Services in Streamstown (near Mullingar), Thompson Transport in Rosenallis, Slieve Bloom Coaches in Mountmellick, A1 Metal Recycling in Mountmellick, MSM Recycling in Birr, Mulligan Plant & Agri Contractors in Geashill, Midland Steel in Mountmellick and Pat Corrigan Transport in Drumlish. I also have a number of smaller customers who are involved in transport and farming.”

Ian has worked hard to make his business the success it is today.

“There’s a lot of work involved. The nature of the business means that you’re always on call. With the breakdown service, you could be getting a callout at four or five in the morning and you could be out until 10 or 11 at night. It’s become a way of life for me.”

Ian, whose brother Aaron is also in the tyre repair business, aims to exceed his customers’ requirements and ensure they are completely satisfied. He is always available to offer advice on what tyres they should be using and on how to get the most out of them.

He concludes by saying: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank my customers and suppliers for their support and loyalty over the past 27 years. I look forward to continuing to work for and with them for many more years to come.”
