Antrim based Barron Transport Services Ltd has been hugely successful in the haulage industry since the company was first established by Billy Barron in 1970.

Specialising in the transportation of goods to Ireland, UK and Europe Full and Part Loads as well as Air Cargo Transportation, the company also provides a fully trained two-man White glove Home Delivery Service along with Warehousing, Storage and Logistics where there is a total capacity of 20,000 sq ft which is a secure site that is staffed 24-hours a day.

Vehicle Hire, maintenance and sales are also on the Barron Transport portfolio. However, the company has now established a sister company called Barron Property Services.

This venture has seen the family run business invest in a five and a half acre site just one and a half miles from the M2 Motorway and one mile from Antrim Train Station.

There are warehouse and office units ranging from 150sq ft to 37,606sq ft with all units available on short term and long term flexible contracts, while many units are ready for immediate rental.

“We are willing to meet our clients needs in whatever way would be economically viable for us all. We can offer anything from one standard office unit to twenty accompanying facilities include ladies and gents toilets, large kitchen, use of conference room and spacious reception area,” said William jnr.

Garage operators and haulier alike may be interested in the fact that the company can offer for immediate use a 4500sq ft purpose built vehicle repair workshop with pit and attached parts storage facilities.

“My father is looking after this end of the business these days, while myself and my brother Alastair look after the haulage end of things.

“We are moving the maintenance end of the business into the new industrial estate and it is an ideal location for fellow hauliers or garages to operate from.

“The haulage end of the business is growing year on year and since 2012, we have seen 30% growth each year, the rates are getting squeezed and it is hard to compete against some of the bigger firms, but we feel that by supplying so many services in specialised areas, we are continuing to see growth.
