HGV and LCV sales on the up

There has been a 53% rise in the sale of HGVs in Ireland during the first five months of the year.
Official statistics released today by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show that Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) sales are up 8% on May, 2015 (from 1,705 to 1,839).
For the calendar year to date, sales have risen by 27%, from 13,858 in 2015 to a new high of 17,561.
Meanwhile, Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) registrations, are up 38% for the month of May, 2016, from 222 last May to 307.
And there has been a massive 53% rise in HGV sales totals for the year to date – 1,686 units sold in the first five months of 2016 compared to 1,103 for the same period last year.
