Time-critical delivery specialist BDA Logistics Innovation has been shortlisted for a prestigious Irish Logistics and Transport Award in the Client and Supplier Collaboration section, for its partnerships with Suzuki, CLAAS and KUHN.

BDA operates nightly flights from Maastricht and Frankfurt into Dublin via Birmingham, flying automotive and agricultural machinery parts from clients’ distribution centres in central Europe aboard its own freight-only aircraft. Deliveries are transported by its own fleet into the company’s hubs at Maastricht and Frankfurt.

All deliveries are GPS tracked and BDA uses its own airside handling teams and technology to ensure a swift and secure turnaround. Goods are flown into the company’s Dublin hub before being distributed by the BDA road fleet to destinations throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Agricultural machinery parts in particular can vary hugely in size, from nuts and bolts up to combine harvester blades; crucially, BDA’s ATR-72 is able to accommodate items up to three metres in length and weighing up to 800kg.

Parts are delivered on behalf of clients directly to dealerships or even into the back of engineers’ vans before noon on the next working day.

Managing Director Kevin Turner said he was delighted BDA had made the shortlist: “We are extremely pleased to be among the finalists for this prestigious award. We have worked hard to establish a comprehensive delivery network throughout both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland,” he said.

“Our clients are looking beyond conventional solutions and we are delighted to offer both express air freight and a class leading final mile delivery, along with a late daily ordering cut-off point, system flexibility and control throughout the network.”

The award winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin, on March 30. Finalists in other categories include Bus Éireann and Dulux Paints Ireland.
