Leading truck manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus UK is meeting the needs of Staffordshire based RJK Logistics as the business continues to grow.

The company began by servicing the needs of sister company Maplevale Homes, and has quickly expanded and needed vehicles that could be ready to service contracts without traditional factory lead times.

MAN’s Trucks to Go offering proved to be the perfect solution, providing two MAN TGS 35.400 tippers and a MAN TGS 32.400 tipper.

Simon Phillips, managing director of RJK Logistics, said: “My business partners have a successful property development business and the logistics business grew out of the need to provide a quality service for the building sites.

“Once we had the first vehicles we began taking on additional clients and it has grown from there. We  are now able to offer a range of services for our clients: supply of loose bulk aggregates and asphalt, construction waste management including cart away of soils and demolition waste, third party transport services as well as end to end supply consultancy services.

“The MAN Trucks to Go offering, combined with the R&M contract and the support of MAN Financial Services meant the marque was overall very competitive.

“The tippers are fit for purpose and needed very few minor tweaks to create what could be considered bespoke vehicles for us.

“We are certainly impressed with the third vehicle, the MAN TGS 32.400, which has alloys and a lighter body as  it offers a 19.75 tonne payload.

“Since the Euro 6 criteria were introduced vehicles have been carrying a heavier unladen weight, but this vehicle is offering a payload close to 20 tonnes – which is certainly one of the best payloads on the market.”

He added: “We are currently looking to acquire another MAN to add to our fleet and are in the process of working out all the specifications.”

MAN sales executive Mike Richards added: “The Man Trucks to Go range offers customers a selection of vehicles built to a standard specification that would meet most requirements without factory lead times.

“Working closely with RJK Logistics we were able to make a few tweaks to the specifications to give them more bespoke vehicles that met their requirements.

“We are delighted that the range of MAN products and services combined to make MAN their first choice and very much look forward to doing more business with them as their fleet expands.”
